Who am I?

Call me Meg

I began my journey through college in 2015, and have since worked on a number of solo and collaborative projects. I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2022 where I spent four consecutive terms as a funded Koret Scholar. I am off to grad school at New Mexico State University to obtain my PhD in Social Psychology.

My Goals

We have all heard the saying, "Knowledge is Power"; Everything starts with a thought, a concept, and learning moment. Every progressive change in this world comes with using our powerful knowledge to express our ideas and teach people to see things in a new perspective, or learn in general. A college education has given me more "power" than I ever imagined, and one day, I plan on passing that knowledge on to the future leaders of the world by teaching college students myself.  I will be continuing on the pursuit of this dream as a fully funded graduate student at New Mexico State University where I plan to continue my research in the scholarship of teaching and learning alongside Dr. Laura Madson in the Fall of 2022.

My Passions

I am passionate about education, mental illness and stigma, and the well-being of people. I plan to combine my passions together to create enjoyable and intentional academic experiences, research and growth for myself. I am so invested in the field of psychology, as I, like many others, have personal relationships to all of my research interests which has informed my decision to pursue them. I look forward to beginning graduate school

at New Mexico State University to continue my educational journey and fulfill my ultimate goal of sharing my knowledge and bettering the life of others. I am beyond excited for the opportunities that lie ahead, and the experiences I have yet to gain.

When I'm not hitting the books, you can find me writing music at the piano, catching a beautiful SoCal sunset at the beach, or making a mean cup of coffee at my local Starbucks.

If you have any more questions about my research, my goals and aspirations, or just about me, feel free to reach out. I'd love to hear from you!
